Heck of a week.....

Been a busy week for me...
For one, I have tendered in my resignation to my boss giving 3 months notice.
It was a decision which i have been contemplating for a while and on 22 May 2008, I snapped and I prepared my resignation and tendered.

To me, the boss doesn't understand where I am coming from and my concerns for the team in the long run. They will only take action when there is an issue. Thus, i got sick and tired of it as i feel that management does not bother about the team as the team has only been merged into one bank recently. The IB sde is treated better than us and we are treated like second class citizens. I feel so much relieved now....

Now, I have to update my resume and look for a job..

Grant me my happiness and financial security

My Race pack

7 days to Sundown Marathon

Time Flies, 7 days to Sundown Marathon.

Something to share….composed by some of the sgrunners.

I can’t run no more long slow distance
All my training seem to fade to black and white
I’m growing tired and time stands still before me
Frozen here on the ladder of my life

Too late to save myself from joining
I took a chance and signed up for the race
But I misread the training that I needed
Done my best and I am blinded by my plight

Don’t let the Sun go Down on me
Although I search myself, it’s always painfulness I see
I’d just allow my timing of my race to wander free
But losing everything is like the Sun going Down on me

I can’t find, oh the right running pace
But see me once and see the way I feel
Don’t discard me just because you think I can’t finish fast
But these legs I have they need love to help them heal

After weeks of preparing for the event, the time has arrived.

For those that are doing 84k or 42k for the first time. You have made the decision long time back, put in the training, this is the time where evertying accumulate just on this date.

The road ahead is long, at the end of it, the finishing feeling is priceless no matter what distance you have just completed.

For those 84k, you will realise that pain has a limit. It just can't get any worse when the body get accustom to the pain/ache along the way.

This is the first night marathon for most. Everyone will learn something from it. Strategy, nutrition, training that seems perfect could be better. Enjoy the experience.

Remember to say - I CAN, when the going get tough.

I can't find any suitable message on the web to say I CAN in long distance running, this link will come close to what i meant.

What don't kill you, will make you stronger.

I see you guys at the starting line.

Its show time!

SunDown Night Marathon

You See: Lights in the Dark.
You Hear: Your footsteps, your heartbeat.
You Smell: The scent of the fresh night breeze.
You Touch: The coolness of the air.
You Taste: The nearing victory of completing your run.

Was at the treadmill and did a slow jog. Well, the shoe was comfy but I think I may need to wear thick socks as I buy sz 9.5.

This is gonna be my first pair of running shoes and it aint gonna be the last one.

Going to work tml and i hope to wake up early tml to go for a morning run.

Got to go.

Good night and sweet dreams

Yippppeeeeeee...........................

I finally got my shoe today
And the brand I got was SAUCONY.
At least, it is a good pair of running shoes and it ain't burn a hole in my pocket.

Though I was a bit upset that the model I tried 2 weeks ago was not available, I am still satisfied with my purchase.

Thanks Ivan for making my purchase a great one. You was rather patient with me and attended to my every needs of the shoe.

I will definitely go back to you when I need new shoes again....

That's the pair of shoes I got today. My first pair of running shoes since ages. Think the last time that i run was like during my sec sch days. In NS, I was excuse running and here I am trying to pick up running. What a joke man!

Anyway, I found out that my feet is low arch. And my feet is wide which has been confirmed not once but thrice liao. Thanks SAUCONY for producing wide feet models less me having to spend SGD 300 plus on a pair of custom made shoes by ADIDAS. Though, I like Adidas, I am not ready to invest that kind of money yet on running shoes. This is something that I may consider years to come.

Will be hitting the gym to test the shoes after my body pump class.....

The week has been tough and I am glad that it is the weekend. Finally, I am not in changi todya. Mine, been working at CBP for a week liao. Its a different feeling working at CBD compared to City Hall to CBP. I am like flying daily as I keep going airport to work every morning.

Mine, I am like going to an airport freak

My new workstation

May 12, 2008

Today was the first day at our new location of werkz. Well, it was a bloody super pissed off day.... From printer issues to my idiotic bosses who dun fucking care abt the team and Melony.

Wonder how the mgt communicate. Had specifically told them that i need the printer at the team's workstation as per status quo cause i have fucking messages for Clariden Leu being generated on a daily basis. Though the printer I had back then was super lo kok, I managed to get the mgt to repair the printer if they dun wish to buy me a new printer. Imagine servicing a HP Laser Jet Printer for over SGD800 over dollars to buying a new one. Serviving comes with no warranty sum more. WTF...

Apparently, there was a screw up among my bosses and the team responsible for the move.Printer 16 was supposedly to be located at our work station and yet it is like located at the other end of the office. Where is the efficiency pp? I realised this error on Sunday when I came back to office... I told the IT staff that there was an error in the location and the bloody IT screw me back. I was like WTF. Here i am telling you that there is a problem and you happily tell me that all messages are routed to printer 20 while jolly well, i damm bloody confirm that it is printer 16. Thank god that today was a very quiet day as it was a holiday in Hong Kong and the CL dealers are slacking. IT bitches are uncouth and they are only nice to the expat from Germany and Sweden. It may seems a matter of printer issue to you guys but printers to ny team and another team matters a lot. Rsn being so is that one generates client confo on letter head and the other incoming swift messages.

I no longer have the luxury of staff from the mailing room and the printing room sorting and distributing the swift messages to us on daily basis liao. How I missed Private Banking. I am like rojak now. Private Banking Operations in Treasury And Banking reporting to INvestment Banking. IB does not equal to PB.

Worse still took me bloody 100 mins to reach office.... think when i am doing Sydney hours, I have to take the coy bus where the pick up point is the pick up point of factory workers. Few of us were like overdressed at the waiting area. BUt we have no choice. we are required to be dressed in tat manner as we are in banking... Among all the casual emplyees of other firms, we stood up like an eyesore.

Melony supposed to be in by today was still not in. I mean how could the other team be selfish and not released her. Jason is leaving on June 2nd and how many weeks does that leaves her? i dun noe wat my bosses are thinking and doing. They dun even care of what is happening?

Monday, May 5th 2008

Today is the day that my ex team mate, YY started work in her new team. I wish her all the best. I was very touched on Friday when she actually took time off after work to shop at Suntec and buy us gifts. The gifts that she bought us I find it was unnecessary but being too polite too reject, we all accepted it.
YY, thanks for being a great colleague and part of the team. Here's wishing you all the best in your new team and keep in touch always.

Was at work super early today. Was looking forward to welcoming Melony to the team today but nevertheless was informed, she will only be transferred over next Monday. Reason being is that her team mate got bitten by a dog and require stitches and thus on long mc. I mean i am okay with the fact that she will only be transferred next week. Now, I have a bigger worry. My main concern will my new team mates be able to handle the work pressure and comprehend the work flow. I am quite concern about the efficieny and ability of the team as the team will comprised of all new comers. I am aware of the team roles and responsibilities, understand and able to carry out the tasks while my other team mate is very familiar with the particular book.

I only wish that I am able to perform my task efficiently and the team will perform.

All the best to the new incumbents

Sunday, May 4th 2008

THis weekend was a rather busy weekend. Rather in fact this is the only weekend in my life that for two consecutive days in a row that I have to wake up as early as 4.30 am in the morning and leave house by 5.15 am. Mind you, it is not as though as I am going to work but to attend to my activities.

Went to attend Preeti's Customary Wedding.

It was interesting as all of us have to be at the temple as early as 6.30am.
Mine oh goodness me........ It was so early in the morning but the effort was worth it.
Cause, I managed to meet up with my council friends. Realized that today, at least half of the girls in the council are married and so far only only 1 guy in council is married. The guys are either single are attached. For those attached, they have been dating as far back as uni days....
That is damm long man.

Was exposed to Indian culture and the immediate family members was very kind and polite to us during the ceremony. Felt as though as i was a VIP as the family gave us a lot of attention even though it is the first time that we have met each other.

Kudos to the family members and friends who made our attendance at the customary and enjoyable one. In fact, we are the only non indians that attended the customary.

We really enjoyed the procession but we wished we were in India as we were informed that the procession in India is more interesting
